Museum Partnerships - Supporting exhibitions and public programming together with the Bishop Museum and Smithsonian on topics such as Hawai'i's rich political history, the Asian and Pacific American experience, Veterans of War, Life of Congress and other opportunities to share the story of the Senator's life, values and legacy in Hawai'i and Washington, D.
C. DKI Congressional Archives. The University of Hawai'i at M. The Library is also committed to its role beyond the campus. Its unique resources are accessible to a wide variety of researchers in Hawai'i, the nation and around the world. These resources will provide supplemental, contextual material for researchers using the Senator Inouye Papers.
On August 2. 1, 2. Irene Hirano Inouye signed an agreement with UH M. Inouye's Congressional Papers and other materials of significant historical value documenting his life and career. In November 2. 01. UH M. This is the largest congressional collection the library has to date. Under the supervision of Archivist Ellen Chapman, the Congressional papers will be placed and processed in the University's Hamilton Library until the permanent repository is available.
Space has been designated for the Archives & Manuscripts Department, a two- floor repository in the newest wing of the building with appropriate climate control and security. This space provides ample room for receiving and temporarily processing the collection. Multimedia archives will be housed at 'Ulu'ulu: The Henry Ku'ualoha Giugni Moving Image Archive of Hawai'i at UH West O'ahu, which is dedicated to the care, preservation and digitization of film and videotape related to the history and culture of Hawai'i.
Processing and digitization will be conducted under a memorandum of understanding between the Library of Congress (LOC) and the UH M. Inouye and UHM sign Deposit agreement.
